The Corbin Redhound Varsity Club was established in 1982 as a way to honor and support the long-standing tradition of athletic excellence in Corbin, Kentucky. Founded by alumni, former athletes, coaches, and community supporters, the Varsity Club serves as a unifying force for those who have worn the Redhound jersey or cheered from the stands.

 

Corbin High School has a proud athletic heritage that spans generations. Over the decades, Redhound teams have achieved remarkable success in a variety of sports, building a reputation for grit, determination, and sportsmanship. Recognizing the importance of preserving that legacy, the Varsity Club was formed to celebrate the achievements of past athletes while fostering opportunities for future champions.

 

The club began with a small group of dedicated individuals who wanted to give back to the program that had given them so much. Their mission was clear: to promote pride in Redhound athletics, provide financial and moral support to current student-athletes, and preserve the rich history of Corbin sports. From its inception, the Varsity Club has worked to reconnect alumni and friends through events and recognitions.

 

A major part of the Varsity Club’s contribution to Corbin athletics includes its involvement in organizing and supporting prestigious sporting events such as the Cumberland Falls Pigskin Classic, a highly anticipated football showcase that brings together top-tier teams from across the region. The Club also plays a key role in the Cumberland Falls Invitational Tournament, a premier basketball event that highlights competitive talent and continues to grow in regional recognition. These events not only spotlight athletic excellence but also draw visitors and community pride to Corbin each year.

 

In addition to honoring individual and team achievements through recognitions and Hall of Fame inductions, the Varsity Club also plays a vital role in funding key initiatives.
